TrescavaL("tres")
from the French meaning "very" prides itself in having small numbers of quality
Cavaliers.
The goal of Trescaval is to produce small numbers of sound, well bred Cavaliers,
reared exclusively in the home, not in a kennel.
TrescavaL was registered in 2001 in Western Australia and
produced its first registered litter in 2003.
Because the Cavaliers at Trescaval are bred for quality and not quantity,
I use these breeding guidelines

When you purchase a puppy always ask the breeder for recent clear heart certificates for both the sire and dam. This is important as you should know what the status of the parents' hearts are. Our next Cavalier was Mr Sox who came to us from Canberra in 1997. Sox has a heart clear certificate at the age of 8 years and four months. He was also certified clear of hereditary eye disease in October 2005. This boy is full of life and is a times a bit of a handful. He has an outgoing temperament, one which we hope to continue breeding for. Sox was titled at 25 months and still loves the showring. He is now only shown infrequently. Still needing to have a wholecolour in the house, we purchased another large black and tan from Marg and Rob MacMillan (Oberrheim Kennels) in 1997. Zak is from the Auslese lines, has a hip score of 2:2 and is one strong, healthy boy. In 2001 Shelley Walker (Redcrest Cavaliers, New Zealand) sent one of her recently titled girls to be campaigned here in Western Australia. Kristie gained her Australian championship title in 2003. In 2002 I had the opportunity to present a paper at the eHealth 2002 conference in London. I arranged to spend time with Caroline Ackroyd-Gibson, Toraylac. Meggie, a two year old girl from the Toraylac came to live with us at the end of 2002. Meggie was mated to Paddy in South Australia in 2003 and has produced four healthy puppies. Meggie has been consistently placed at specialty shows, with her most recent win being Best Limit Bitch at the CKCS Club of Victoria show in June 2005. Holding a clear heart (Feb. 2005) and a clear eye certificate (Oct 2005) we are very proud of Meggie's achievements. Meggie returned to Perth to gain her title at the Winter Festival 2005. As I am a health professional with a Master's degree, working for two public, teaching hospitals in Western Australia, I understand and appreciate the importance of health testing. Therefore, I have made the TrescavaL policy that all dogs are to be health tested on an annual basis. This includes hearts, eyes and patellae. Heart and eye examinations are performed by either specialists or accredited veterinarians. I am the first breeder in Western Australia to publish clear heart and eye certificate results on the Web.
All my dogs live in the house and have covered in outside areas where
they can run and play.
All dogs are exercised daily and have lawn to run on in the morning
and evening.
Another TrescavaL policy is to adopt the UK Cavalier Club breeding
guidelines whenever possible.
Too often breeders use their Cavaliers at a very early age without
establishing the health status of the sire and dam, nor the dog being used.
TrescavaL will only ever produce a small number of quality litters
with the objective of improving the qualities of the Cavalier.
TrescavaL is breeding for healthy Cavaliers with the correct
temperament and soundness.
We breed also to maintain both breed type and longevity of the breed by
health testing. Please browse through this web site and if you have any questions
or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. |
