The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is an active, graceful and well balanced dog, with a gentle expression. They are a sporting, affectionate and absolutely fearless breed. The Cavalier should have a gay, friendly, non-aggressive temperament, with no tendency towards nervousness. This breed is a fine companion for young and old. One of the jobs of the Cavalier was originally bred to do was to warm laps in draughty castles and on chilly carriage rides. Today, Cavaliers still take their responsibility quite seriously.

The recognised colours are Blenheim (rich chestnut and white), Tricolour (black, white and tan), Ruby (whole colour rich red) and Black and Tan. The desirable weight for a Cavalier is 5.4 kg - 8.1 kg (12-18 lbs). Cavaliers do not take kindly to being kenneled, nor should they be left on their own for extended periods of time. Cavaliers need the companionship of humans and other animals. All Trescval Cavaliers are well socialised, loved and cared for in a home situation, NOT in a kennel.
